Daniel Lucas has over 10 years’ experience in Risk Management as a risk consultant, specialising in property, machinery breakdown and business interruption. He has a broad range of experience and specialist knowledge in Tertiary Education, Power and Energy Systems and Infrastructure, The Defence Force, Aviation, Wineries, Manufacturing, Food, Meat and Skin Processing, Engineering and Construction to name a few. As a Chartered Professional Engineer he uses his engineering experience to assist in risk assessment, machinery breakdown and supporting the underwriting of large property business. Daniel has gained experience working for an international broking house as well as an international insurer. This has provided him with exposure to large asset portfolios. These more complex business activities require specific and generic underwriting information and risk assessment services. This can be applied either prior to conception of new business or as part of an ongoing underwriting regime, which ensures the risks are managed to a high level. As a chartered professional engineer, Daniel has been the technical point of contact for engineering queries from underwriters and brokers. Additionally, Daniel also provides ongoing risk management advice to clients. Daniel benefits from previous international experience in the Pacific Islands and Australia, as well as New Zealand, with respect to natural hazards such as earthquake and cyclone potential in these regions.
